Princess Marie: A Copy Kate?
Duchess Catherine wowed the world, or at least the Daily Mail, when she wore her pink Emilia Wickstead coat dress to two events in the same number of weeks. On the first go, she paired the dress with pink satin Prada pumps, and diamond drop earring and matching diamond brooch. Signature barrel curls completed the look.
But it looks like the Duchess has some competition in the pretty in pink category. The new mother to 5 month old Princess Athena of Denmark, Princess Marie, seems to have taken Kate's style to heart with the styling at the Kronborg Castle for UNESCO celebration. Obviously the dresses are both pink, so no big comparison there. But the neckline and seams across the bodice, the diamond brooch (although Princess Marie does love a brooch), the a-line hem, even down to the side swept curls and deep tan all seem to be fairly familiar. A Miu Miu clutch to match her nude pumps completed the outfit.
So what do you think? Both ladies look radiant to me.

Charlene's First Half of 2012 Fashion; Princess' Style
We did it for Kate, now it's only fair the other new member of a royal family also share in some of the spotlight.
Princess Charlene's clothing budget well exceeds Kate's, but the Princess had many more engagements then the young Duchess to show off her designer duds. Charlene's fashions at times is decidedly French: monochromatic and simple clean lines. Very rarely opting for color other than a blue to bring out her eyes, the Princess seems to embrace the trend of the season: beige.
The largest change for Charlene was not her style, as she wore similar tailored pieces pre-wedding, but her hair style. Her cropped 'do surprised even me. Depending on the styling I think I love it more than the longer hair.
What do you think of Charlene's choices? Spot on? Or needing some more variety?
How do you feel about the chop? Love the short 'do? Or do you miss the old locks?

Kate's First Half of 2012 Fashion: Duchess of Cambridge's Style
It's the year of the Queen's Jubilee. It's the year of the London Olympic Games. It's a major year for Britain. And how has the newest member to the family do this year in the fashion stakes?
The Duchess seems to love the Union Jack, picking the colors of her clothing most often within the shades of red, white and blue. She also dresses in neutrals and monochromatic hues.
Opting for very clean cuts, occasionally patterned, and simple accessories, Kate's started off her first half of this year in style and grace.
For royal events, Kate has two go to dress cuts: shift dress/pencil skirt or fit-and-flair with pleating on the skirt. For casual appearances, Kate is almost exclusively in skinny jeans. She knows what works on her body, and sticks with it.
Do you wish she'd go out of her comfort zone and try something a bit different? Or do you prefer Kate's lady-like tried-and-true looks?
Edit: After posting, articles surfaced estimating the cost of Kate's wardrobe for 2012. The reports detailed the cost of "official" outfits worn by the Duchess were funded by her father-in-law, Prince Charles. The cost of the above looks ran the Duke of Cornwall £35,000 or roughly $54,000. The exact number will likely not be known, but when Prince Charles releases his financial statement it will reveal any additional spending that has incurred since the wedding of his son to Kate Middleton.
