Carl Philip honors Folke Bernadotte, Count of Wisborg

16-Sep-2011: Prince Carl Philip participated in the inauguration of the monument to Folke Bernadotte, Count of Wisborg in Djurgården.
Carl Philip's calendar lately has filled up with activities, and he's popping up everywhere including this inauguration of an important relative.  Folke Bernadotte (1895-1948) is most remembered for two events in his diplomatic career: during WWII, he lead the negotiation of the release of 30,000+ prisoners from German concentration camps, and after the war, Bernadotte was chosen to be the UN Security Council mediator in the Arab-Israeli conflicts; however, during one of his UN missions in Jerusalem he was assassinated by an militant Zionist group.
